Kellie Coates Gilbert has once again taken me “home” to a place I’ve never been before. In this second book of her Teton Mountain Series, I felt surrounded by friends who really care about each other. One of those friends is Reva Nygard, who is surprised to find herself fostering a young child who has lost both his parents in an automobile accident. Little does she know just how quickly this boy will claim a huge chunk of her heart.

With the support of her friends, Reva finds that she is indeed able to handle the responsibilities of both her professional and private life….and just maybe find the sparks of a new romance.

I love the way the author is able to unwrap the layers of her characters and bring each one to life. The beauty of the mountain setting is visible in my mind. This reader loves the celebration of friendships and support Reva receives from those around her. Of course, I also fell head over heels in love with the child and wanted him to remain with Reva.

If you enjoy tales of love and friendship, then this book is perfect for you. It is the second in the series, and although the first gives you more background information, Echoes of the Heart can be read as a standalone.

Many thanks go to Ms. Gilbert for providing me with an advance copy of this beautiful story with no promise made or requested of a positive review. However, I was mesmerized by her story and can highly recommend it. Any opinion here is strictly my own.

Friendship and family take center stage in Where We Belong, the first book of Kellie Coates Gilbert’s Teton Mountain Series. The author places us in the town of Thunder Mountain, Wyoming and makes us feel right at home. We get to know the local residents and their hopes and struggles. Charlie Grace Rivers is one of those people and I quickly was drawn into her life as she tries to turn her family farm into a working guest ranch. I love that she and her high school best friends are still close.

A local resident stirs up controversy over plans for a television show to be filmed nearby. To make it complicated, Charlie Grace has met a man she really likes – and he happens to be part of the production company.

Ms. Gilbert has a talent for making her characters seem very real. Her physical descriptions of the location are so vivid that the reader is transported to the site.
The story flows seamlessly, which keeps it believable.

The author provided me a copy of Where We Belong with no request or promise of a review. However, I am a fan of her work and can honestly say that this book did not let me down. I had a hard time putting this book down and am already anticipating the next one in this series.

Kellie Coates Gilbert has continued to keep me absorbed in this Brisco family saga. The family faces many tough obstacles that must be overcome, but there are also moments that keep the reader from feeling that the story is overwhelmed by “gloom and doom.”

I love how the author is able to bring her characters to life and make the reader care about them. Some of the problems the family must face would be more than many of us could handle, but they come together to deal with each issue head on.

Ms. Gilbert has written a beautiful and inspirational tale that will pull you into this story. The book is one that you can easily read in a day, but I’ve become so interested in the Briscoe family that it is hard for me to not immediately start the next one in the series.

Although you can enjoy later books without reading the first one, I would suggest that you start this series at the beginning so that you can more completely enjoy this family saga.

Members of the Briscoe family stand tall and face new challenges head-on in this second book of the Maui Island Series. Life throws some really big surprises at them that I did not see coming and as a reader I wondered how they would get through it all. However, this book shows us a strong and loving family that supports each other through each crisis.

Kellie Coates Gilbert brings the reader a story that creates a myriad of moods as you turn the pages. It is impossible not to experience both the highs and lows this family must deal with as members deal with the situations in front of them. Her characters come to life on the page and the family dynamics are very real. Also, while this is not a romance, there is a hint that love is in the air.

I plan to continue reading this series and would encourage other readers who enjoy family sagas to pick up a copy for themselves.
