Henry Geldzahler (1935–1994)

This is really an affectionate tribute to a talented artist who died in 1984 at the young age of 37. With tributes from five contributors include David Hockney a picture emerges of a talented young man, gentle and with a boyish charm; what is really interesting is that looking at the numerous portraits by the artist included here is that that is the very image they all seem to convey.

The text is relatively brief but informative and touching, and there are 40 plates, all with the exception of one or two drawings reproduced in full colour and each to a page alone in this large format book.… (altro)
