A Little White Lie for Christmas stars Steve and Eric who work for the same company. Steve is a bit of a Grinch and believes Christmas is full of fighting and guilt. He learned all this from his very judgmental family. Eric is happy-go-lucky and feels bad for Steve suffering through Christmas. He concocts a scheme to prove to Steve that Christmas can be joyful. This book is told in first person through Steve’s pov.

2.5 Stars

This is a fast read with no angst, and a HFN. It’s an average story, where nothing unique stood out for me. Maybe it was because Steve wasn’t very memorable. His voice is flat and monotone. That could be because he’s unhappy throughout most of the story, but I didn’t notice much of an improvement at the end. Since we see the story through his eyes, I would’ve liked a more expressive character. As it was, his blandness made the story a bit boring. Eric came across as thoughtful, but he wasn’t in the story much so I never got a good feeling for him.

It felt like this story had more inner ramblings and observations than dialogue, and I’m not a fan of these kind of stories because expressions of strong emotions tend to be lacking.

A Little White Lie for Christmas was an okay read. It’s not a memorable story, and I won’t read it again. If you need something to pass the time, but don’t want to take up a lot of your time, this book works. But other than that, I wouldn’t recommend it. I give this book, 3 Stars because I can’t give 2.5 Stars.

Isaac Morris has been a leader of protests against the LGBTQ+ community with his family and church. At one protest a man comes up to him and challenges him to choose to be gay then go back to straight. He declines but, upon thinking about it and with his twin sister's nudging, he decides to make a documentary about choosing to become gay then choosing to go back to the straight lifestyle. His brother John thinks he should do to help John's son who John is afraid is going to choose the gay lifestyle. Isaac and Ruth, his twin, move to Seattle to set up the filming and the experiment. Isaac gets into trouble at a gay bar. He meets Colton there and asks Colton to help him navigate the gay lifestyle. While Colton helps him, both are attracted to each other but don't act on it. Colton has secrets in his past. Isaac has secrets in his present. Colton also invites Isaac to his gay-friendly church. Isaac goes and meets Pastor Mike, Colton's mentor and friend. Isaac hears a different interpretation of the scriptures he has used in the past to condemn the LGBTQ+ lifestyle. He stops and thinks about it. What will Isaac discover? Will the documentary come out? Will Isaac's ideas on the gay community change?

This was an intense read but so good! I liked how the scriptures are used and the different interpretations given within the book. Some good points are made. Both sides of the debate are represented.

I liked Isaac and Colton. They are good together. They move slowly into a relationship. When the documentary blows up everything, I could feel the pain of both men. I liked that Isaac decided to go ahead with the documentary. I also liked he had the support of Ruth. I liked that they also reached out to siblings who left their church and family. I liked Abby, his older sister. She had wise words for him. I was glad he listened.

I highly recommend this book. It is worth your while to read it.

An OK read. I like that Ms. Gallagher had some aromantics in the story - more please - and bring them to the fore!

One gripe: Star Wars and Star Trek are not the only SF brands in the multi-universe. It's much too easy to fall back on these two brands because everyone knows about them, but there really are other franchises out there. Seek them out. PLEASE.

A book with two aces as the MCs. I would very much like more books like this please.

Brennan walks into the local sex shop looking to find help with the problem he has with keeping his girlfriends happy and, erm, satisfied. There he meet Zafir, a guy who, after a bit of discussion, gives Brennan some new ideas to think about and sparks a friendship that soon goes beyond just friendship.

Other than the silly 'big misunderstanding' that breaks them up for a really stupid reason, Brennan and Zafir make for a sweet couple who find happiness and comfort in each others company in the best ways that make any relationship work. Plus, Brennan makes Zafir's son, Tariq, happy, both by being a great person and by teaching Tariq how to skateboard. They three make a wonderful unit.

Kudos to Ms. Gallagher and her writing. Thank you for writing this book. This ace tips her favorite hat to you!
