Mark Frost is a novelist, television/film writer, director, and producer. Frost is the son of actor Warren Frost, brother of writer Scott Frost and actress Lindsay Frost. He studied acting, directing, and playwriting at Carnegie Mellon. Frost worked on the TV shows Hill Street Blues (as a writer), mostra altro Twin Peaks (as a co-creator, writer, and co-executive producer with David Lynch) and On the Air (as a co-creator, writer, and co-executive producer with David Lynch). He received an Emmy nomination in 1984 for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for Hill Street Blues. He received 2 Emmy nominations in 1990 for Twin Peaks. Mark Frost published his first novel, The List of Seven, in 1993. His other published works include The Six Messiahs (1996), Before I Wake (1997 under the pseudonym Eric Bowman), The Greatest Game Ever Played (2002), The Match (2007) and The Palladin Prophecy Series. The writing was simply mid tier, with several places that it felt like the author was trying too hard to appeal to teenage boys without really knowing how they actually talk. Felt a little stereotypical. The romance was very basic and also a bit stereotypical. It does make you want to read the next book but only because there are so many unanswered questions from the first book. There were also several plot points that seemed too convenient rather than worked into the story. Like his mind pictures that he can conveniently do without really any explanation or practice. Or when other people discover they have powers just in the nick of time.… (altro)
I enjoyed this extra look into the world of Twin Peaks, but I thought this particular piece maybe filled in too many gaps, while simultaneously ignoring some of the other bizarre entities found in Twin Peaks. I wish some of the explanations were more fantastical than aliens, but I like learning about how the characters had come to be where they are in the series.
