Sir Frank Fox was a journalist, soldier, author and campaigner. Having been horrified by the atrocities meted out to the civilian population witnessed whilst a War Correspondent in Belgium in 1914, he determined to become a combatant. He was blown up on the Somme, but returned to France as a Staff mostra altro Officer after a year's convalescence. He was appointed OBE (Military) and Mentioned in Despatches. In 1922 he accompanied King George V and Lord Haig to the military cemeteries in Belgium and France. He wrote a record of this in The King's Pilgrimmage-soon to be republished. mostra meno
