Jonty and Choc are friends and have been all through their early schoollife, that is until they reach intermediate. At intermediate they realise that they have different goals and likes from each other. As each boy begins to make different friends in their different classrooms they realise how different each culture is. They end up becoming distant friends as they fight over differing cultural values they place upon a piece of ambergris found on the beach.
