Alonso Fernández de Avellaneda

One of the great literary mysteries, Licenciado Alonso Fernández de Avellaneda, of Tordesillas was the pseudonymous author of the Second Volume of the Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha, a spurious continuation of Miguel de Cervantes's novel published in 1614 while the latter was still writing his own second part.

Though the subject of much speculation since, their exact identity remains unknown.
