I recall reading this years ago (I think I got it from the library). It's actually a historical crime fiction with a romance tacked on. Miss Heywood finds herself an unexpected heiress when her grandfather dies. His will is such that the other legatees cannot inherit until she marries or dies. Trapped in the house by floods, the relatives rub up against each other, and soon unpleasant things start happening... Not bad - I enjoyed the mystery plot more than the romance - it seemed an afterthought to the rest of the story.… (altro)
