Timothy Faust

I went into this expecting to be outraged but not surprised, validated but not hopeful. When I set the book down, I was all four. I knew or was familiar with a lot of the content but still often blurted out, "That didn't even occur to me!" and "Is THAT what that is?" but mostly rude words in exasperation because I am angry and emotionally tired. This book was really well researched, the footnotes were helpful and funny at times, and this book's message was presented in a fresh and new way. I'm poor, born disabled, queer and Jewish. The odds were never in my favor. No matter how I tell myself that things will turn around when I get a job, they won't. Until a lot of systems change, I'm stuck. This book reminded me that there are others like me and I'm not endlessly whining. It helped and taught me a lot. I'm so glad I read it..… (altro)
