Cat Ellington

I cannot say enough how I enjoyed reading the anthology series of Reviews by Cat Ellington. And this latest Volume Three did not disappoint me by the slightest bit. Thrillers, Mysteries and Chillers as well as a few classics thrown in for good measure. Overall, these excellent and sharply observant reviews touched on some serious subject matters (perversity, incest, moral ambiguity, mortality,and greed) just to name a few. I'm glad I stumbled unto this series of reviews and for those who like reviews should at least give it a try. Two thumbs up!… (altro)

Boy, did I ever stumble down the rabbit hole! After I had finished reading this Volume Two of Reviews by Cat Ellington, all I can say is; wow! She done it again. Just when I thought I completely understood a book I had read a long time ago, Cat Ellington's insightful perspective caused to reread it again and that's when I realized that I had missed several clues or plot lines that was right there in front of me in plain sight. She must have been Columbo the TV detective in another life. Anyway, there are quite a few gems in this here book so it is well worth reading. Got me again. But I enjoyed it.… (altro)

A while ago, a good friend of mine recommended me to start reading more book reviews so that I could broaden my understanding of how a book was constructed and would it be worth my time. Well, I'm sure glad I ran into this book, Reviews by Cat Ellington, Volume One, because some of my all time favorite author's works are reviewed here and a few I hadn't read before. Cat is certainly a gifted writer herself because she delves into each book's story breakdown, subplots, characters profile and even adds an astute observation twist. Plus, she sure has a twisted sense of humor that I liked. I sure learned a lot about each writers purpose of introducing their main characters and why. No spoilers are revealed so that's a good thing. This review book is great for readers who like to learn a little more about their favorite books with a extra dose of insight.
