Rudolph Ekstein, Ph.D., 1912-2005, was a colleague of Dr. Rocco L. Motto’s at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Ekstein also served as Director of the Project Child Psychosis, and was a training analyst for the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, and clinical professor in Medical Psychology at UCLA. Dr. Ekstein was born in Vienna and received his Ph.D. there. He began his professional life as a teacher, and was always a champion of lay analysts.
