This novel was originally named Murder in Sarasota. Newspaper article writer and amateur detective, Jack Russo is a one-dimensional character that is missing the intellectual and/or physical traits normally found in the lead character. The pace moves along and it was easy to figure out who did what early on. The book did not live up to its potential.

This cozy mystery introduces some likeable characters. The newly slimmed down journalist Jake Russo and his trusty photographer sidekick make an amusing pair.

The story line was predictable and although there were a few laugh out loud moments, the writing was generally just okay.

This book reminds me of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories my brother and I read as preteens. You are presented with a scenario and then asked to make a choice. In the print books, you would be told which page to turn to. In the eBooks, you click a link and it takes you to the correct section. Make a bad choice and your story ends. The one bad thing is that there is no way to go back to your previous choice if your story ends too soon. (For example, one of the times I read it, my story ended in less than 10 pages, but since I had no way to go back, I had to start over at the beginning. In the print books, if you remembered, you could keep a finger in the book at the previous choice page in case your story ended sooner than you wanted it to.)… (altro)
