First read as a teen. I ran across this old book at a booksale somewhere. This is a very Victorian view of the struggle and if you are looking for a retelling from that perspective this fits the bill. I re-read this for a paper on the Crusades. It had more information on Peter the Hermit than most of the other sources I had been able to put together.
