My daughter tends to get intimidated by books...not the case with this one. She read these passages aloud. They were relateable, and it helped grow her confidence.

It’s a good resource to use along with something else, but not as a standalone. I would suggest using it as it is meant for a enrichment resource.

The scaffolding is clear and well-organized. The readings cover a variety of genres and topics, giving students the opportunity to relate readings to their own unique perspectives and experiences.

There is a wide variety of genres of text such as poems, short stories, fables, and biographies. The focus on social and emotional learning is absolutely what I need to work with my students this year. If I could give this 10 stars, I would!
