"An engrossing account of a flight to freedom across the deadly Gobi Desert," (front cover)

From an urgent midnight knock it became inevitable that Marie and Leonid would have to escape from their homeland. Finally after months of preparation they departed on a well-neigh impossible journey, to cross the Gobi Desert on horseback. Their flight led them through fear, hunger, thirst, rain, heat, and cold in Mongolia -- a deadly desolation that had impassively witnessed the last moments of many luckless travelers --into China.

This exciting page-turner is a Write Now award winner.

A childhood dream of the glamour of nursing is one thing, but the rigors of the actual experience are something else! Kerri, a long–leggett brunette, finds this out, as do her classmates, both male and female. They discover that the hospital, particularly, is a grueling workplace that demands the best that an individual has to offer. Engulfed in the human problems of the units on which they serve, the young people find it difficult to maintain the objective attitude that is necessary for their survival.A logical, but surprisingly happy ending concludes this fast–moving true story.… (altro)

Jack Goldsmith's deprived and abused childhood hurried him toward independent living at 15. His years on the mammoth cattle stations of the outback earned him a dual reputation as a rough, tough, hard-working stockman and a drunken, cursing brawler. But through it all, something needled at Jack's mind. You see, when he was a little boy, for a few precious months. He lived with aunt Millie, and she taught him about Jesus.Jack's long, sometimes–humorous search for truth led him to one conclusion: the good news must be shared. And Jack, the individualist, came up with most unusual, unthinkable, unheard–of ways of witnessing! And, yes, they were effective, too. A thoroughly engrossing book that will leave you smiling.… (altro)
