Throughout this book the sentence “I feel safe” is said over and over, while following with a situation that might bring scared feelings. It shows children that though some things may seem scary, there are people and things to help us feel safe in those situations.

I really loved this book. It was about forty pages long, mostly littered with pictures and fact boxes surrounding them. Each page talked about a new aspect of the universe, black holes to star systems, we explored the universe together. I think this book would be really interesting to a student who liked to learn about the universe, but also to someone who just maybe wanted to see some pictures that illustrated some important facts about the universe.

This book is great for students who love science and want to do some experiments on their own. The book goes over the materials, the procedure, and why the experiment works and what science is going on behind it. I would love to have books like these available for children to take home to their parents.

What makes a machine? This book does an excellent job introducing six simple machines along with several activities to you going. What a great way to spend a summer break with your kids!
