An absolutely enthralling story, reminiscent of Anne Rice that will have you diving into medieval France, and a world where vampires are king...literally. I have absolutely fallen in love with Jeanne. Hands down, one of my favorite book heroines. The story drops you right into the action, with vivid descriptions that will have you feeling like you stepped right through the pages and into Jeanne's life. Dixen does an amazing job of bringing this alternate world to life - where royalty was so desperate to hold onto power that they turned to dark ways, complete with immortality, blood tithes, and their own form of "secret police" (everything a tyrant needs to stay in power). I could sit here and talk about this book for ages, but let me leave you with this - if you're looking for a book that brings back those old school vampire vibes with a new twist, then you'll want to grab this book. I'm exhausted, it's been years since the last time I read a french book and it took me such a long time to finish it omg
Anyway, I liked it. I loved the concept and all, but I wanted to give it an average rating because it has been too slow for the most part of the book (I don't know, maybe it depends on the fact I'm a slow reader when it comes to french because I'm not used to it anymore) :(

Anyway, I have to say that I'm quite angry for the ending. Is it too much to ask you to tell me at least who did she choose, duh?… (altro)

La réécriture ou mise à jour de contes semble à la mode. J’avais déjà lu Cendrillon et le chaperon rouge à la sauce cyberpunk. Voici boucle d’or à la sauce garou. Pour faire une comparaison, l’approche de l’auteur est différente : au lieu de transcrire l’histoire et les personnages dans un autre monde, ici, Dixen nous raconte « la vraie histoire » de Boucle d’or et des 3 ours.

L’histoire se déroule en 1832, quelques années après les guerres napoléoniennes, en Lorraine. Blonde est une jeune couventine orpheline à l’extraordinaire chevelure blonde. Son existence recluse sans espoir va soudainement être remise en question par la révélation de son passé ou comment sa mère s’est perdue dans la forêt et a découvert une étrange chaumière avec 3 bols sur la table.

Franchement l’idée est bonne et bien exploitée. Il y a quelques trouvailles scénaristiques et l’interprétation de la vrais histoire de boucle d’or est vraiment bonne. En plus, Victor Dixen est un bon conteur et il sait tenir son lecteur en haleine. J’ai commencé le livre par curiosité mais je n’ai pas pu le lâcher avant de savoir la fin!

Le livre est estampillé « jeunesse » mais franchement je le jugerais tout public, même si le volet sentimental est typé amourette adolescente pour midinette.

Une lecture originale et très agréable!
