I got this as a teenager and really loved the story itself.

I enjoyed this story, basically of a child swap at birth and its consequences, but set in the Punjab during the Sepoy rebellion - Devon England - post civil-war America. The various characters were well established in my opinion and the story, which is basically a love story, is enlivened by intrigue and adventure. I will certainly look up other books by the same author.
