The pages in this edition definitely have an 80's vibe to them.... they feel a bit dated for today. I probably won't go back any farther in this series as a result.

Some of the layouts were interesting in this edition, but a great number had a very 80's vibe to them. Even the editions from just a year or two later feel fresher than this volume.

I liked this edition of contest winners because it had explanations from the judges showing what they liked about the top pages. There were lots of interesting ideas in this book -- far better than the previous edition I looked through.

While this is somewhat dated, I did find a few interesting ideas and unique newspaper layouts in here. (I felt some of the awards were given for content rather than design.) This did give me a few layout ideas, so it was a worthwhile read for me.
