In the Circles of Fear and Desire: A Study of Gothic… di William Patrick Day
It's been a while since I read this, but I remember it as a very interesting study of the Gothic genre from a psychoanalytic perspective. It covers the Gothic mode from the early days of Matthew "Monk" Lewis to the slasher films of the 1980s.
