White Lies by Lucy Dawson was one of the few books this year that I finished in one sitting. I first off want to thank Netgalley and all parties involved for my arc this was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. This is one of my first He said She said novel and I loved it so much. WOW just wow at how good this was. I found the Alex and Johnathan chapters very well done and found myself conflicted with who I felt sorry for Her, Him, both or No one. Alexandra Inglis is a respected doctor within her practice and for all that know her. There are ethics and boundaries that have to be in place and each doctor to abide by. Within these pages those boundaries are broken when both Alex and Johnathon cross those lines and she becomes obsessed with him or does he? What I loved most about this story is that you read and yet when you get to the end you hold your kindle and go…. What did I just read???????? I am impressed by every word on the pages of this book and encourage everyone who loves a thriller to pick this up.

The Night She Lied by Lucy Dawson is a highly recommended psychological thriller.

Jude has recently lost her partner and switched to working nights shifts as an A&E nurse in a hospital. When her mother, Margaret, calls and tells her something terrible has happened, Jude is concerned for several reasons. Perhaps she shouldn't have shared any of this information with Rik, the new man she just met, but he seemed understanding. When Margaret won't answer her return call, she sends the police for a wellness check. This in turn sets off her mother, and causes a stir in the whole family which soon culminates in Margaret being charge with crimes committed twenty years ago.

Margaret gives off strong Mommy Dearest vibes at the start which continue throughout. This character flaw always makes it a bit difficult to believe that a grown adult daughter would keep putting up with the manipulative behavior but it also makes for a compelling narrative because you can't predict what a character who is this flawed will do next. While Margaret is truly an unlikable character, Jude isn't entirely sympathetic because something seems off about her at the start. They are both unreliable characters. This is a good time to note that if characters are eliciting this much speculation and analysis, they are probably well-written with this result in mind.

The narrative is told through multiple points-of-view and in multiple timelines, providing background information to the current action and further developing the plot. There are plenty of twists and new information divulged along the way, making the story additionally complicated and unpredictable. In turn, I enjoyed the novel while also shaking my head in disbelief, however, I read it to the end and was engaged in the story. 3.5.

The Daughter kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. The first few chapters just tore at my heartstrings! This riveting story will definitely have you reading until the small hours. I read it in one sitting, literally the same day I got this ARC! haha

You really have to read this to experience it! I don't want to give spoilers at all! Let's just say, this book is the reason I lovee this genre! Ahh! This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'm so excited to read her other books! I'm really impressed!… (altro)

I have mixed feelings about this book. While it's true it was a psychological thriller and it moved at a great pace, I feel a bit let down.

It was clear early on who the "client" was but even when this was confirmed, there were still more questions than answers: How did Lou get into the bedroom to take the photos? How did she know to go there in the first place? Who was the man she sent to deliver the letter? How did she keep accessing the mobile phone account and changing passwords? And at the end, where is Sophie moving to???
