Wake Up! Wake Up!: A Springtime Lift-the-Flap Book… di Kathryn Lynn Davis
This book is great for discussion about seasonal changes, hibernation and spring. It's a flap book and is interactive.
Cute illustrations, simple text, fun little flaps to flip. My one-year-old enjoyed it.
This book consists of a young girl looking through her garden finding lots of opposite things. Such as a short caterpillar and a long snake. The illustrations are very colorful and any young child would love the vivid images. Overall I think this would be a great book to use as an introduction to reading to a very young group of students.
SUMMARY
This is about how the pilgrims came to America and the native Americas helped them. The native Americas taught them how to plant and grow food. They work together and at the end had a thanksgiving feast to celebrate.
PERSONAL REACTION
I enjoyed the illustrations. It went great with the story. It showed how people can learn from other people.
CLASSROOM EXTENSION
1: this could be used during Thanksgiving to teach children about sharing and helping each other.
2. Teach a lesson over each group of people like the piling rams and native Americans… (altro)
