Having taught composition with three texts, I'd have to say this is the best of them. The student examples included or not all that well written, and may set a low bar (or at least seem to) for quite a few students in a college writing class, but it's not a bad textbook otherwise--readable, and fairly worthwhile material. Of course, I tend to not stick to any textbook too closely, so I'm not sure how well it will work out for a teacher who prefers sticking close to a text. Some of the exercises here, especially, are either more complicated than they need to be, or somewhat repetitive if you've been paying attention to ones that came before.… (altro)
