I’m a big fan of Sylvie Stewart - she’s great at filling her stories with a combination of comedy and likeable, relatable characters. While this is the first short story of hers I’ve read - she still manages to make it everything I hoped and expected. But that’s not to say it didn’t leave me wanting more - but in the best possible way.

At a Christmas in July pet pageant (I mean, why the hell not?) Kat luck turns around when her crush turns up with his adorable dog. Better yet, he’s in a bind and the only one who can help him out, is Kat! And cue the music!

I liked both our characters instantly and they have the cutest chemistry. It’s quite nice to read a story with such innocent smittenness. It’s not that the story is innocent (although there’s only kissing), it’s just that they’re so totally adorable that it feels fresh.

For such a short story, I still definitely believed in their connection. Of course I wanted more. And of course I wish it was longer. But I was sucked in immediately and was left satisfied and with a smile on my face. I couldn’t ask for much more.

Overall Opinion:
Who doesn't like second chance romances? “Sweet Tea & Second Chances” practically has it a title for crying out loud yet despite that, there wasn't anything particularly interesting about this series. Pretty much a bland read with characters that didn't do much to pull the reader in. Sadly this just wasn't a keeper.

Dixie King is an absolute sweetheart. Preacher's daughter she may be, but she has a streak of self-sufficiency that runs strong, an aptitude for handling herself, and a know-how-go-getter-attitude that keeps her on the path towards whatever goal she shoots for. Though inexperienced in matters of the heart, she's got a wealth of love to give to the right guy...but what if the right guy doesn't seem to be so much long term as he does "for the moment"? Ah, yes...that would be our cue to introduce lead number two...

Presley Walker is what ice cream is to a girl in need...delicious, crave worthy, but not necessarily good for your health, or in this case your heart...at least historically speaking. His dating history leaves much to be desired because the words long and haul don't seem to appear anywhere near each other in his vocabulary...but sometimes it just takes the right one to set a man straight...much to his own surprise. Honestly, I adored Presley! True, he didn't take most things seriously, but when the chips were down (literally and figuratively), you could count on him, no questions asked. Together, they may seem like oil and water, but sometimes the most unlikely of matches make the most beautiful happy endings.

All in all, I enjoyed my time between the epages through and through! I laughed, I cringed, I swooned, I rooted for the little guy, and I walked away into that proverbial sunset with a happy heart. If you like Contemporary Romance, or even Cowboy Romances, be sure to make room on your MUST READ list for this upcoming release!
