Cinderella and the Glass Slipper [short story] di George Cruikshank
Written in reply to Charles Dicken's essay, "Fraud on the Fairies" critiquing Cruikshank's moralizing, this tale is told with the syrupy sweetness that became tongue-in-cheek for later children's authors. (Example: "It is a very unpleasant thing to speak ill of ladies, but the truth must be told; and in this case we are sorry to say that the lady in question came to have a very bad temper, and behaved in a very cruel manner to Cinderella.") Unfortunately, while there are occasional moments of humor, Cruikshank is mostly serious.… (altro)
