Frank Cho

Sur un thème plusieurs fois exploité, et notamment en comics, Cho tisse une trame enlevée ponctuée d'épisodes parfois surprenants (l'héroïne étant hors jeu pendant une bonne partie de l'album, reportant notre attention sur des personnages qu'on imaginait au départ secondaires). Ce syncrétisme de toutes les mythologies le situe quelque part entre la Saga du Panthéon dans la série Hulk et Luther Strode, avec toujours cet indéfinissable humour latent de l'auteur qui s'amuse de la plastique de son personnage féminin, ridiculise les personnages mâles et continue à proposer des créatures bardées de crocs et de griffes.

A collection of Frank Cho's beautiful covers for Harley Quinn, with a handful of Batman and Wonder Women covers tossed in as a bonus.

It's great that Cho was able to transfer his dachshund love from Liberty Meadows' Oscar to Harley's pet, Nathan, who figures prominently in many of the images. Her hyenas also get the spotlight a few times.

My favorite image is Harley and Poison Ivy dancing to the Batman theme song (with Nathan, of course!), but I love the power radiating from Diana for the two Wonder Woman covers.

I viewed this on my iPad, but I bet it looks a hell of a lot better in print twice as large at 12" x 16".

Note: The page count for the Kindle edition is 40+ pages, but there are only 20 images, each shown once in full color then repeated as a faded version that gives the creator credits (Cho and the colorist).… (altro)
