Anche se la seconda parte di per sé parlerebbe della teoria delle categorie, abbiamo più che altro uno spot pubblicitario su quante belle cose ci si possono fare: la cosa ha senso, perché il campo è comunque troppo astratto per spiegarlo in un'opera divulgativa. Meglio la prima parte, che cerca di dare un approccio alla matematica diverso da quello scolastico guardando più a quello che vuole fare la matematica anziché quello che fa. Non è del resto un caso che Cheng abbia deciso di insegnare matematica astratta agli umanisti, né sono un caso le ricette di dolci all'inizio dei capitoli, ricette che servono appunto per mostrare analogie di solito nascoste agli studenti con le strutture matematiche. Laura Serra ha tradotto scorrevolmente un libro che a mio parere può essere letto da tutti senza troppi patemi.… (altro)
