Patricia’s philanthropist mother has just died under strange circumstances. Now, come to find out, all of her money is gone as well. This sends Patricia and her friends on the hunt. But, it may end up being the last thing they do.

I enjoyed this southern mystery. First off, I love Savannah. So, the setting is one of my favorites. How can you go wrong in a city with as much history and character as Savannah. But, the chase for the money is the best part of the book! Then there is Patricia. She is a true Southern woman and does not take no for an answer.

I had two people picked out for the villain in this tale. And if I had been smart, I would have nailed it on the first guess. I love a book which has me doing a guessing game.

The narrator, Allyson Ryan, did a pretty good job. She tended to get faster if something suspenseful was happening. But Kudos for not trying to screw up the southern accent.

This is my first book by Alan Chaput. It is the second in his Vigilantes for Justice series. While I was able to follow along and get involved in the book, I honestly wish 8 had read book 1 first. So you can read it out of order but I don’t recommend it.
I thought the characters were well written. I like many of them, especially Patricia and Meredith. The mystery, though, was awesomely written. In my opinion this is not a cozy mystery, though I can see why it has been called that. It is a clean book, even though the sex industry and organized crime are part of the story. I give the author major kudos for pulling that off. I was raised by a mother who always said if you need to curse a lot you should invest in a dictionary. *Truth confession: I need to invest in a good dictionary.* Mr Chaput wrote a very good mystery mixing in characters and elements where you often find colorful language and he did it without relying on “adult” language. He also did not rely on graphic sex and violence. Some may think this would be a somewhat boring read but I assure you it is not.
My recommendation is that if you are looking for a mystery that is clean reading but has a complicated plot with a few things going on, this is a series for you. I would suggest you start with book 1 but if you really want to read book 2 without reading 1, it is doable.… (altro)

WOW! This was a great beginning to a new series! Right off the bat you're smacked with action and it doesn't really stop. Savannah is a great location setting with the beautiful homes, squares, foilage, history etc. While some of this story may seem over the top...stranger things have happened. This story leaves lot of room for the reader to make up their own minds as to who is the good guys and who are the bad guys because it seems like we are all a little of both. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Patricia Falcon and three of her close friends work hard rescuing battered women. That is her fulfilling job, to see these women are safe. When Patricia's Mother ends up dead, she is sure that is is due to foul play. She along with her friends decide to find the truth, no matter what.

A fast paced story with attention to detail, thrills, suspense and mystery. Patricia is very likable, along with her friends. They are determined to get to the truth, with twists and turns along the way. Overall I found Savannah Sleuth very enjoyable, a great who-done-it. I highly recommend to those who love a good murder/mystery.… (altro)
