Villain Sean MacGreggor has escaped and he's after Bobbie Faye and Trevor. When Trevor goes on an assignment for the FBI, he leaves his friend, Berneke Rilestone, Riles for short, to act as babysitter/bodyguard for the couple of days he would be gone. It isn't long before a couple of days turns into a week, making Bobbie Faye unable to sleep or eat, while she and Riles drive each other crazy. Former flame, Cam, sees this as an opportunity to get Bobbie Faye back and begins his campaign, but Trevor isn't just on assignment, he is looking for MacGreggor in hopes of keeping Bobbie Faye out of harms way.

When a Man Loves a Weapon is a good romantic suspense with lots of action, but the tone is very different from the previous two books in the series. The wackiness is there, but fails to add humor to this much more serious story where Bobbie Faye must make a choice between Cam and Trevor in the midst of helping her sister's alcohol problem and finding out that her best friend has been keeping secrets and lying to her about who she really is. Also, magical realism takes center stage in the climax of the plot, rather than playing an ambiguous role as in the other books. Overall, When a Man Loves a Weapon is a more traditional romantic suspense story but is still an enjoyable end to this series even though much of the humor is missing.

Bobbie Faye Sumrall's cousin, Francesca has tasked Bobbie with finding diamonds that her mother stole from Bobbie's uncle. It quickly becomes evident that many people are after those diamonds and Bobbie Faye is right in the middle of the search. At the same time, evidence surfaces linking Bobbie Faye to a murder, so she not only finds herself searching for the diamonds but also trying to prove her innocence. Meanwhile, former boyfriend, Cam is working behind the scenes trying to help, and current boyfriend, Trevor is using his undercover assignment to secretly protect Bobbie Faye from the many people who seem to be trying to kill her.

Girls Just Wanna Have Guns is another wild ride with Bobbie Faye. The story is over-the-top ridiculous, which just adds to the humor and fun. Text messages inhabit several pages that help keep the reader on track, but it is the case notes at the beginning of some of the chapters with information written in the margins that provide some of the funniest moments in this book. While there are multiple character perspectives, Bobbie Faye's and Cam's are the most prevalent, and Trevor's is still mostly unexplored. Overall, Girls Just Wanna Have Guns is extremely entertaining, leaving this reader excited to read the third and final book of the series.

Bobbie Faye Sumerall wakes up to a trailer full of water from an overflowing washing machine and a phone call from her brother saying he's been kidnapped. She is instructed to bring the ceremonial tiara she wears in the Lake Charles Contraband Festival as its queen in order for her to get her brother, Roy back unharmed. Bobbie can't figure out what is so special about a cheap tiara, but she goes to her safety deposit box to get it. What follows is a series of disasters starting with Bobbie Faye interrupting a bank robbery in which she loses the tiara and leads to a chase across the bayou with a man named Trevor who seems to be helping her.

Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day is a gem of a story featuring an engaging mystery, exciting adventures, and a little romance. Bobbie Faye is a catastrophe that never ends as evidenced by the opening pages of the book that include a map showing several of the locations where she has caused extreme chaos. There are many laugh out loud moments as Bobbie Faye and Trevor try to save Roy while other supporting characters add humor of their own. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter also point to Bobbie Faye as the culprit in many earlier disasters. More emotion would have added another layer to this narrative, but overall, Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day is an entertaining novel that leaves this reader wanting more.

Bobby Faye....oh my, this lady has some luck. The antics of her and her friends made me laugh. I know it was supposed to have tense drama filled moments but I couldn't help but laugh through most of it. She's a walking disaster but most standards yet she's one gutsy broad, meeting trouble head on to save her family.
Thinking I may just have to follow Bobby Faye's story and see what other trouble she can get into. Besides, I think Trevor might have more back bone than Cam and might actually rock her back on her heels a time or two, just what Miss Bobby Faye needs.… (altro)
