What an interesting story! I started reading this from a caregivers perspective but was surprised by the turn the book took with Lillian's character. I never saw that coming! As a caregiver I've often dreamed about the "what if's". What if..... this were my house, what if.... they asked me to move in here and take care of it long term.... what if.... the family members treated me as their own. You spend so much time with your clients they become family to you in a way. Lillian played around with her own ideas of "what if" when you least expect it. Integrating her childhood memories into the story showed clearly how she became this person. Her relationship with Ellen and her family was realistic. The description of the house and details in Lillian's mind make it so real I could see this house in my minds eye. Naturally, I could not put this down until I saw how it ended it was that good! I look forward to reading more from Maria Casale hopefully soon!!!… (altro)
