John Calder (1) (1927–2018)

John Calder was born in Montreal, Canada on January 25, 1927. He worked in the family timber business before founding Calder Publications in London in 1949. He was friends with Samuel Beckett and wrote several books about the Nobel Prize-winning Irish writer.
