This is a sweet and beautifully written story of loss, despair and severe grief. Yet through the eyes of a young child, the wonders of Christmas are rekindled and the healing begins. It's a story of a community's warmth and love and the inimitable spirit of a young boy who seeks joy wherever it might be found. This is a tender story of healing and hope.

I am grateful to author Robyn Buttars, publisher Familius, LLC and Goodreads First Reads for having provided a free copy of this book. Their generosity, however, did not influence this review, the words of which are mine alone.… (altro)

Full disclosure:I received a copy of the book from the author for a honest review.
For once, this is a YA novel that doesn't have a great deal of angst. There are teen issues as Jenny, the main character, deals with the feelings of a teenager who is discovering some new feelings. Between her feelings for David and then later her feelings for Mick, it is obvious that this is a romance, but not a graphic romance. It is nice to see a teen with values without being so preachy. Particularly loved Tony, the young boy Jenny sat with on the plane. 3.5 stars!… (altro)

I enjoyed reading this “country tied” story because it’s emotional, adventurous and gives us some advice to think of. After reading this book you’ll understand better the teens and their feelings.

The story takes us from the magical life at a farm in Cache Valley (Utah) to the crowded Los Angeles (California). In this story we meet Jenny (the main character), her unique family, her nine year old friend (Tony) and her two handsome friends that captured her attention.

I liked Jenny, because she was a mature thinker, she helped her family with the hard working at the farm when her father had the accident, she attended school even if she was tired from the work at the farm, she didn't lose her mind in the crowded city and she didn't forget her countryside place.

I find this book easy to read and easy to carry in my handbag. I also like the cover.

I would really like to read more about Jenny and her adventures and also I’m looking forward for the author’s next books.

Alittle girl named Rosie has lots of new friends, but her most important friend is Bessie. Rosie learns from her what true love, beauty and friendship really are from Bessie, but when she starts talking of dying, Rosie must face a new truth. Cute and cuddly small book and story.
