I received a copy of this book for the purpose of review.

Michael Jospeh Brown has taken the Lord's Prayer and broken it down for the reader.
Each petition is discussed and expanded upon to show the reader what was most
likely meant by the petition in biblical times. To understand the Lord's Prayer helps
us to have a deeper relationship with God. The prayer also shows us what God's
vision for the world is and can be. The author has made the point that
"participating in the formative practice of prayer we get to see what needs to be done
through God's eyes".
Prayer is a deeper relationship with God. A private, spiritual time for you to be one on one
with God. But, the author tells us to always remember to listen. Make sure
that you are not just telling God what you want or don't want, because this is not a
one way conversation. It is truly a two sided conversation between you and God and you
must always open yourself up to what he is saying in return. Prayer is tranformative and
can change not only our lives, but that of those around us. You must always remember
your spirit and the obligations you have made as a Christian. Do not let praying become
a habit that is not cultivated. Praying is your relationship with God and with any relationship
you must tend to it and work at it. Through prayer and the help of your christian community
you can become what God intended.
I am deeply affected by this book. I needed this in my journey. I think we all need a shake up
sometimes. This helped me to realize why the petitions were made. This also helped me to
see where I was in need of extra attention in my own spiritual relationship with God.
I will ever be "fixed" as we are all sinners but I now have an extended/deeper knowledge
that will help me to work toward being a closer image of what God wants me to be.… (altro)
