Being the voracious book reviewer, I am, I read/review a wide variety of genres, including poetry. There’s a certain quality in writing poetry which requires the writer to possess a certain mastering of the English language to adequately set the picture in a reader’s mind along with any desired emotions which the poetry is supposed to evoke. In reading the poetry exhibited, I’d found them to be quite thought-provoking making it difficult to simply and then move on to the next poem. Given the genres of the books I’ve read/reviewed recently I needed something which have me picture something in my mind which would give and have me think about a wide variety of emotions, such as: contentment, passion, life and to balance everything thing out even a touch of sorrow; recalling memories of my past days and perchance some new thoughts.
For having given this to his readers and myself, I’ve given the author, Mihai Brinas, the 5 STARS he’s getting from this voracious book reader/reviewer.… (altro)

MyPenNameOnly | Apr 5, 2019 | Short poems, free verse perhaps, freed of capital letters and punctuation so ideas can flow; Mihai Brinas’ writing invites questions and memories—the smell of a library and “sadness of so many books left unread;” the poet building sandcastles; the “scarecrows stuck by peasants amidst their field…;” and if “love is reciprocal / the ring will be called / a wedding ring.”
My favorite poem is “imagination,” perhaps because it resonates with my own imagination: “the restlessness of the birds living / on the river bank / the imagination … tattooed with the symbol of faith…” The phrasing feels odd, perhaps, at the start, but draws the reader in with its different cadences till the missing punctuation becomes like a clue to more meaning “…digging / in a mountain of words / just like a coalman…”
Romance is here; childhood’s dreams; doubt, loss and regret. Mihai Brinas’ Invitation to Poetry becomes a smooth and intriguing invitation to a different poetic form and presents an enjoyable read.
Disclosure: I was given an ecopy and I offer my honest review.… (altro)

I received an electronic copy of this book from the author through a giveaway he recently had on LibraryThing and here below is my opinion.
Alignment of Thoughts - not only is it a beautiful work of poetry.. but as young woman becoming a mother, and being in touch with my heart where my love stands. Mihai Brinas captures your heart and attention in a raw take on life, love, earth and the way we recognize the world and ourselves in it. I cannot wait to read other works by Brinas. Thank you for captivating me and taking me to a place I have not been in a long while.
I recommend this to the reader who loves poetry, the college student just beginning, and the child who loves to see the beauty in books.… (altro)
