Meg and her friend travel to a remote mansion to secure period pieces for a TV series set in the 1930s. It was a former mental asylum and the site of a decades old murder. It’s not long before history repeats itself, though, and after a long night trapped in an ancient elevator, Meg discovers a body in the basement, the victim killed in the same macabre way. Of course, Meg has to find out who the murderer is before another person falls victim to the same fate. It’s a well plotted tale, with its dark setting and mysterious characters. Power failures, dastardly doctors, and wild accusations all add to the charm of this delightful mystery. Just keep the lights on and stay out of elevators while you read this tale!… (altro)

Meg is busy decorating rooms for a Bibliophile B&B. The owner, a rare book collector, has an unpublished manuscript by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and plans to unveil it at a party. But plans go awry, and soon, so does the owner. Rare books go missing, people become ill, and then the bodies start piling up. Meg is caught up in the middle of all the turmoil, and decides she needs to sniff out the clues and find the guilty parties, if only to clear her own name. This mystery is the third in the series, and it’s an intriguing one. Adding interest to the story is the way the author weaves real authors and books into the plot.… (altro)

Meg is helping her friend inventory and clear out the estate of a wealthy art broker. They discover a hidden room in one of bungalows and a hidden body, now just a skeleton. It could be the owner’s son who went missing twenty years ago. Never one to turn her back on a mystery, Meg delves into the past. At least it takes her mind off her own problem, that of ownership of a cottage she bought and is now being claimed by an heir of the deceased former owner. Much goes on in this intriguing cozy. Meg gets coerced into adopting a 23-pound Maine Coon cat. She also gets stalked, which may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. The mystery is a compelling one, the characters are believable, and the cat is a darling, if a bit demanding. It will be interesting to see what the author has in mind for the next book. This second installment in the Hamptons Home & Garden Mystery series leaves the reader wondering what will happen next.… (altro)

There was no guessing about which character would be voted Most Likely To Be Murdered. The dissembling and weird behavior among the suspects was intriguing, however.
The plot holds interest, lots of red herrings and twists, convincing suspects, and a whole lot of backstory. Cn easily be read as a standalone. Loved it!
I requested and received an EARC from Beyond the Page Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you!
