Francesca Cartier Brickell

This book is a work of nonfiction, but at times, reading it felt like reading an escapist novel. The story of a family who founded one of the most famous jewelry stores is complete with internal family drama and accented with the pursuit of fabulous gems like the Hope Diamond make for fun reading. The wide swept of European history is present too, as the impact of war and depression are explored for their impacts on the family and the business. I enjoyed this book, and I'd recommend it for anyone interested in the history of the Cartier business.… (altro)
