Donna Brazile

I have only one major issue with this otherwise enlightening and fascinating look at one of the most unusual presidential campaigns in U.S. history. I feel Brazile spent too much time on the hacking angle and not enough time developing some other intriguing angles. Please don't misunderstand. I'm not minimizing the significance of the hacking. I simply believe it could have been adequately addressed in about half the number of pages. The book also gets a bit redundant in spots. For example, Brazile doesn't have to make the case a half-dozen times (if not more) that she doesn't recall writing an email that allegedly leaked questions from an upcoming debate to the Clinton campaign. Hitting on this angle three times -- or maybe only twice -- would have made the point. Having said that, I'm glad I committed the time to "Hacks." It definitely offers a revealing inside look at the botched Clinton campaign.… (altro)

A very realistic look from the eyes of the Chair of the DNC on the events during the time after the Convention through the Election of 2016. It is a horrendous story of mismanaged funds, lies or at least withheld truth, fear promoting to the point of life threats, some people trying very hard to do what seemed right to them, and just unimaginable exhaustion. It's hard to think of how things could have been any worse. This is the Chair's story. Others tell it differently. I'm thankful to have read this to get an inkling of how this sort of thing works and doesn't work.… (altro)
