At times this book was beautiful and the story interlaced with the history of Ireland, but I often found myself lost, as if I had missed some crucial piece of information, but I had not.

If you haven't delved into the world of Exit Unicorns, then you are missing out on an epic work of art!!

Flights of Angels is the third book in this phenomenal series and the continuing story of Casey, Pamela, Jamie, Patrick, and a host of memorable characters navigating the terrible tragedy that is The Troubles.

This part of the story has us traveling to Hong Kong, Paris, and Russia, then back to our most troubled Ireland. This book is bloody brilliant. It is a rollercoaster ride of emotion and the tale is full of mystery, politics, betrayal, love, heartache, and survival. There is always poetry and stories to be told that leave you breathless and Flights of Angels is no exception. It is so far my FAVOURITE of the series.

I first read Flights of Angels in 2015 and again in 2019 when the audiobook came out.

I highly recommend reading this series along with the audiobook. It is a whole other experience entirely!

Gary Furlong is a master at his trade and he does not disappoint! I thought he did a fantastic job with Exit Unicorns. He takes it up quite a few notches for Mermaid in a Bowl of Tears and he has completely BLOWN ME away with his work in Flights of Angels.

My favorites are the voices for the characters in the Tales of Ragged Jack and the part where Pamela connects with Jamie in the dream realm and has a mix of accents! Love it, love it, love it! His rendition of the Reverend Broughton and the Crooked Man is spine-tinglingly accurate in my mind.
Love it, love it, love it!

If you haven’t delved into the world of Exit Unicorns, then you are missing out on an epic work of art!!

Where Butterflies Dream is the fifth book in this phenomenal award-winning series and continues the story of Casey, Pamela, Jamie, Patrick along with Ambrose, Pru, and a host of many unforgettable characters navigating the terrible tragedy that is The Troubles.

At the start of this book, it has now been a decade since the beginning of The Troubles. There is so much that has happened to this cast of characters I can’t imagine having lived through the trials and tribulations they have had to endure for so long. This story has us traveling to other parts of Ireland including the beautiful Wicklow Mountains, County Kerry, and County Mayo. We are immersed into a heartbreaking account of the Irish Hunger Strike and how terrible politics can be. This story has many heartbreaking situations, but with the tragedy, there is also hope and trying to find peace. Ultimately, it is about finding one’s self and accepting that, learning what love truly is, and what makes a family whole.

I have grown to love these characters and their story so much. I really can’t imagine not knowing them. I am sad that this may be the end of this series, but the beauty of that is that you can read the books as many times as you want. This is a series I will read time and time again. You can't say that about a lot of book series. The Troubles last another 16 years where this story leaves off, so who knows Casey, Pamela, Jamie, and Patrick may not be quite done with telling their story just yet.

The audiobooks for this series are incredible and I can’t wait to hear Gary Furlong bring this book to life. Hopefully in 2021!!

Mermaid in a Bowl of Tears is the second book in this phenomenal series and the continuation of this epic story around the lives of Casey, Pamela, Jamie, Patrick, and a host of memorable characters and how they navigate through the terrible tragedy that is The Troubles.

This part of the story takes us to South Boston for a time and continues back in Ireland. Cindy weaves a fantastic tale full of history, poetry, betrayal, love, heartache, and survival. It will leave you craving more, and more you shall have.

I love this series with every fibre of my being!
I first read Mermaids in 2015 and again when the audiobook released in 2018.

I am completely enamoured! The audio takes you on a plane of existence that you didn’t even know was there. Pairing the book with the audio and to experience a story like this is so much different from watching it in a movie format. Gary Furlong is a master at his trade and he does not disappoint! I thought he did a fantastic job with Exit Unicorns. He takes it up quite a few notches for Mermaids!

I am very much looking forward to him doing the rest of the series because honestly; I don’t know if anyone else could do it justice.

I have enjoyed this experience so much that I have re-listened to several chapters more than once! I love it that much!!
