While some (many?) of the supplier addresses in this book may be outdated/discontinued, there are introductory paragraphs for the various sections which provide a good analysis of the qualities to look for in agricultural tools.
Beginning from the simplest hand tools and progressing into mechanized cultivation and harvesting, it's a basic overview of ag tech for small farms as of the 1970s. With the continued ramping up of machinery to levels that can bankrupt a family farmer, it is likely that modern agribusiness just laughs at these ideas. In fact, Logdson has a good essay in this book on just that subject.
