Formal-wear designer Sandra Woolcott makes a bet with her Dad that she can cook Thanksgiving dinner for her family. It's common knowledge that Sandra's a total disaster in the kitchen, but after hearing her parents talk/brag about how wonderful their friend's daughter Ivy is---the girl can do no wrong, she cooks like a chef, she's married, has kids, etc...Sandra becomes jealous and makes a bet with her father that she can make a delicious (and edible) turkey dinner with all the trimmings. And she must somehow learn how to do this by Thanksgiving! In the meantime, Sandra has just run into her old high school sweetheart, Isaiah Jacobs, who is back in town visiting his parents. He left town ten years ago to go to the Naval Academy and became a lieutenant because his family pressured him to do it. But now he's retired and wants to pursue his own dreams. While Isaiah's in town for a few weeks he offers to teach Sandra how to cook.

This was a really fun and enjoyable story! Sandra was a cute and spunky heroine. Her Dad put her down a lot because he wanted her to work in the family business, but she was doing very well with her own business, Swoon Couture, which catered to the wealthiest women in Wintersage. I also liked her best friends, Vicki and Janelle. Isaiah was a good hero. I liked how he was very supportive of Sandra and her career and how he tried to help Sandra win the cooking bet with her father. This book had some funny moments and great/likable characters. I also liked how the story took place during Halloween and Thanksgiving. This was an enjoyable reunited lovers romance with a good main couple with great chemistry!… (altro)
