I think the book could have benefitted from more images like clear ECG trace images of certain urgent scenarios that can pop up. The book is not a replacement for reading full-fledged anesthesia textbooks, it is a sort of quick reminder for specific urgent scenarios.

Such a booklet could be useful by placing a copy inside of the anesthesia machine in any room and encourage staff to take a look at the pages with a certain frequency. Perhaps 90% of the scenarios will never happen in an anesthesiologist's career, but when something really bad erupts, you have to act fast, cool minded, and always ask for a second doctor to help.

I like the design of the book and while some dosages are a bit unusual (not to mention I have never prepared Dopamine in 50 cc saline but in Glucose 5% 250 cc instead), I think it can be of good use to at least keep it nearby and give it a read every now and then to remember how to act in case something unexpected and very urgent erupts.… (altro)
