Bill Blunden's latest book is wonderful and colorful history of REO Fire Apparatus. Although REO did not build complete fire apparatus, the affordable and reliable REO truck chassis was used by many builders to build a wide variety of fire apparatus. This book is the first volume of what is going to be a two-part history. It covers the teens through a 1930s. It is lavishly illustrated with about 300 photos from Blunden's collection as well as those of many other historians and photographers. This is a recounting of what it was like to work for a midwestern software company at the turn of the century. Well written, darkly funny.
