this is largely a review of WSC's various writings on war. He adds a small amount of biographical material, but with such a well known figure, there's no need to more than indicate. There is more material on the post-1945 WSC than I thought. Best feels that WSC reveals little more than the attitudes of the late 19th & 20th century, coupled with a fascination with technology, and on occasion pushing that technology too far. WSC got his head around the end of the world if the H-bombs were seriously used, and I was unaware of how tightly the USA clutched its nuclear knowledgs even after the Lend-Lease sharing had worked so well for them.… (altro)

Concise, interesting, somewhat hagiographical. Can serve as a good introduction to Winston Churchill and his time.
