Circumstances cause great changes in MiMi’s life, but eventually she believes she has discovered what God wants her to do. But is it true? Was she really chosen? Did she accomplish God’s wishes?
MiMi tells her story without embellishment or rationalization. She admits her insecurities, her anxiety over God’s plan for her, and her eventual outcomes. The reader is brought to question whether Jews can still believe in the coming of the Messiah. Are good works and good intentions enough?
The author, Pamela Becker, is independent and self-published, meaning that she has no literary agent or publishing house backing her. I hope this was a choice, because I can’t believe professionals in the publishing field would pass up this amazing, well-constructed, and well-written book. I enjoyed every chapter and give Memoirs of a False Messiah an unhesitating 5 stars.… (altro)
