I was pleasantly surprised that I liked thus book. The author was able to combine genres of fiction into a cohesive story.

Not bad. Nothing I'd go running out to buy part II for, but will probably read it should it come across my desk. At times too pedestrian, at others, just too unbelievable. Nifty little resolution to this chapter, but of course, many loose ends left to go...if you dig buff Highlanders, may be the series for you. (If you insist on lots of bodice ripping to go with your buff Highlanders, you're SOL, but who knows what subsequent entries hold...)
