Breve biografia
Rick Bayless has won our country's highest chef honors (James Beard Foundation's National Chef of the Year). He's also won our highest cookbook award for Rick Bayless's Mexican Kitchen (Julia Child/IACP Cookbook of the Year). His other cookbooks include Authentic Mexican and Salsas That Cook. His famed Chicago restaurants, Frontera Grill and Topolobampo, have both won many awards, including the coveted Ivy Award.

This is a very comprehensive cookbook, and I've enjoyed several of the things we've made. A little overwhelming just in terms of number of recipes.

Every year I take on a new cookbook and this was 2018's project. Bayless is a clear writer and the recipes here give an excellent overview of Mexican flavors but once you get a few of the techniques down there isn't much left. It was pretty easy to cook through this tome on weekdays. Recommended! I'll never look down on boiling meat again.

Chef Rick Bayless just keeps getting better and better. I love his sense of maintaining the traditional ingredients while including a few modern touches that give a new spin to many of these authentic Mexican cuisine. The guy is a genius! Photos are a great plus. Wish he put in more details for recipes but that's my personal gripe. Very good read! Bon appetit!
