CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Firstly, let me say, wow, what an action packed thriller. From page one to the last page, the reader's riveted to the pages as the action is fast and furious. Without pause, author Tony Batton, moves from scene to scene smoothly and gracefully without breaking the pace of the story. As a result, the reader finds a finely tuned thriller full of suspense, secrets, and maneuvering.

Secondly, although book 2 of The Interface Series, I did not find I needed to read book one to enjoy this book. Resurface is a standalone. Batton's story-line fascinated from the beginning and my interest did not lag. Glued to the pages of this action packed story, I could not put the book down. I found the author gave enough background from the first book to enmesh me in this continuing story. Although a lengthy novel, I became so involved with the story-line I barely noticed the page count.

Furthermore, the plotting was excellent and varied. With many plots and characters to bring together, Batton did a skillful job of forming a complete and cohesive book. Tom, from book 1, inspires admiration as he tries to live the life dealt by his evil genius father. I came to feel sorry for the Alex, the vicious killer without a conscience, and abhor her psychopath father. Batton skillfully developed each character in Resurface giving them good and evil ideals. Batton revealed human characteristics of greed, power, and evil, with skill and realism. The maneuvering and dealings of the varied governments, realistically shown, made me hang my head in shame. What men and governments are willing to do is amazing as Batton demonstrates.

Finally in concluding my techno-thriller novel review of Resurface, I found a solid well-written novel with well-developed characters and an amazing original story-line. Ultimate power corrupts as Batton skillfully portrays in this story. The pace is excellent leaving the reader screaming for the next book in this series.

RESURFACE RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

In addition, I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend. I recommend Resurface for young adults and adults. I found Resurface a first-rate techno-thriller novel.
