- Martine Batchelor a reçu l'ordination de moniale en Corée en 1975 du maître zen Kusan Sunim, dont elle est devenue la traductrice et l’interprète. De retour en Europe, après un séjour de 10 ans en Corée, elle rejoint la communauté bouddhiste de Sharpham en Angleterre et travaille comme conseillère spirituelle pour le centre vipassana de Gaia House, fondé par Christina Feldman et Christopher Titmuss. Martine Batchelor conduit des retraites zen et vipassana dans le monde entier. Avec son mari Stephen, elle vit en Aquitaine depuis l'an 2000 et tous les deux font partie du Collège des Enseignants de l’association Terre d’Eveil. Elle est l'auteure de nombreux ouvrages en anglais dont : “Méditation for life" et “Let Go", Wisdotn Publications, 2001/2007 ; ont clé traduit en français “Rencontre avec des femmes remarquables”, Éd. Sully, 2002 ; “Le Zen”, First Editions. 2003 ; et “La Voie du Zen Coréen de Maître Kusan Sunim”, Éd. Dhanna, 1999.
