Summary: “The Sun Book” is by Marilyn Bass. It is an informational book about the sun and what it does. The book discusses through illustrations what the sun can do, for example: helps grow the food we eat and helps flowers grow. The book was talks about how beneficial the sun can be, like helping the snake take naps. It also says that the sun burns your feet when you step on sand that the sun has been shining on. It informs about how many different ways people use the sun.
Personal Response: This book is a cute book. It helps children understand how the sun affects each living thing. It could be shorter. The illustrations were very well put together. I think students would have a good time reading this book and the benefit is that it informs.
Extension: The students can write a reflection of how the sun benefits them personally. The students can discuss the other planets and the solar system.… (altro)
