Joan Barry

Truly bizarre comedy romance about a couple given an early inheritance who set out to travel the world, but soon become enchanted with others they meet onboard the ship taking them through the Mediterranean, the Suez Canal, and on to Ceylon and Singapore--all very British places in 1932. Barry, who quit acting far too early to marry a rich banker is lovely. Kendall, as her husband, is suitably likeably unlikable and is seasick for about half the film. Marmont takes his place, acting as Barry's companion on ship and off, then the husband meets a princess! There's much more to come, and its probably more enjoyable on repeat viewings than Titanic.… (altro)
